I'm tickled to say that "A Sigh of Love," my Alaskan romance is back on The Wild Rose Press Champagne Bestseller list!  Thanks to all who bought the book.

In other news, "A Train through Time" is back to me for a final look, and "A Trail of Love" is back to the editor as a final edit.  I hope to see both books published this year.

A couple of new things are happening for me.  I've started a newsletter and sent out my first edition.  It should only come out about once a quarter or if I have really thrilling news that I can't wait to share with friends, family and readers.

And I've started a blog!  I know what you're thinking.  Yet another blog?  I started this at the urging of an author friend who thought I might tie in my romance writing, love of humor and travels in my recreational vehicle.  I've called it "Will Travel for Romance," and the link is http://willtravelforromance.blogspot.com/ .  I hope to get lots of feedback from it.  I'll be talking about whatever strikes me that day, romance writing, life in RV parks or adventures on the road.   Join me on my travels.  It can get lonely sometimes here on the road!

I have submitted my romantic suspense to several publishers.  We'll see what happens with that.  I'm not sure if I was in the ballpark, and I'll know by an editor's response if I should continue along that vein.  Although I found the romantic suspense extremely challenging, when it was done, I wanted to start another one.  However, I'm going to hold off and see what happens.

I have started a new book.  So far it's a contemporary romance set high on a mountain on a Native American reservation.  I won't say more yet because I'm in the beginning pages and I like to allow for possible genre changes.

Contests:  We're beginning a contest called "Spring Cleaning" on March 20th.  Look for that to begin on my contest page.  And "Luck of the Draw" ended at midnight last night.  I'll be contacting my winners as soon as I receive their names from the contest coordinator.  In addition, my "For Love of An Irishman" is ongoing through April 8th.  Check the contes page for details.

My Alaskan romance, A Sigh of Love, gets a Reviewer Top Pick from Night Owl Romance!  Here's a blurb!

"I absolutely loved this story. There was just something magical about it since it was set in Alaska. Having visited there a few years ago, its beauty just leaves a permanent image in your heart, mind and soul. Alaska was the perfect backdrop for this story and the characters were just so believable. I felt so bad for Abbie because she just seemed to be getting a bad deal all the time until she returned back to Alaska. It was as if Alaska helped her to find herself again. I would definitely recommend this story to others and I eagerly look forward to reading more stories from Ms. McBride."

The full review is available at http://www.nightowlromance.com/nightowlromance/reviews/Review.asp?ReviewId=1333

In addition, The Romance Studio gave A Sigh of Love Five Hearts and a Sweetheart Win.  Here's a blurb!

"I really enjoyed reading this book and found myself reading through the night because I just could not put it down. The sensual scenes were beautifully presented but were not explicit. The sex was alluded to, but not specific. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a good love story with great action. I believe that it will be a definite winner.

Certainly a lot of good news this week.  The contests are still going on.  Drop by my contest page and enter.

I'm wrapping up my romantic suspense and getting ready to submit it to The Wild Rose Press.  Wish me luck!

As you can see, we are in full swing on the Luck of the Draw contest.  See my contest page for details.  I've begun edits on Across the Room which is now called A Trail of Love.  My editor and cover artist thought Across the Room would not work with the scenic lanscape book covers that I love...and since I wanted the scenery, I changed the name!

My current contest for my newest releast, A Sigh of Love is still going on, and I enjoy hearing from contestants and readers.

I've seen the draft of my cover for On A Warm Sea of Love and it's beautiful, quite, quite wonderful.  I can't wait to share it with everyone, but I think I'll wait until the book at least begins edits.

Talk to you all soon!

We just wound up our contest, A Quest for Passion, a celebration of Valentine's Day, and I'm pleased to announce that I drew two names, Nicole Price and Stacia Helpman!  Congratulations, ladies!

We're gearing up for another contest called Luck of the Draw in time for St. Patrick's Day which should begin within the week.

Don't forget to check out my current contest for my newest release, A Sigh of Love:  What did the Native American man say in my book trailer?  You can view the details on the Contest page.

And last but not least, I have finished my first draft of my romantic suspense.  I've got a lot more work to do, and the ending surprised me completely, but...stories will often do that to you!

I'm pleased to announce that my second manuscript, "On a Warm Sea of Love," has been contracted by the Faery Line of The Wild Rose Press.  This is a contemporary/light paranormal and features a young widow and her happily married sister who embark on a Caribbean cruise. As they meet several handsome men-a romantic Scots
ship's officer and a debonair Dutch entrepeneur, her sister tries to make a match, but our heroine balks at men--especially men who go out
to sea as her husband was lost off an Alaskan fishing trawler many years before. She also has to contend with the fact that her dearly
departed young husband, who hasn't yet managed to actually "depart," has decided to accompany her on the cruise. While he provdes running
commentary on the men, he struggles to let her go and makes it that much more difficult for our heroine to find new love with a real live
man!

"On a Warm Sea of Love" is my sixth contract with The Wild Rose Press.

Don't forget!  "A Sigh of Love" is set for digital release this Friday!  Yahooo!!

And last but not least, I've been to Mardi Gras parades here in the Gulf Coast over the last few days!  Wow!  Very exciting!

"Across the Room" is set to begin edits in February 2008.  Yeah!

In other news, I held a contest for the print release of "Love of My Heart."  My winners were Janice Roach and Heather Bennett who each received a signed copy of "Love of My Heart."

I finished my first time travel entitled "A Train through Time," which was accepted for contract by the Vintage line of The Wild Rose Press!  I can't tell you how excited I am by that contract!  It's the story of a college-level instructor of women's studies who boards a sleek modern silver train bound for Seattle to attend a seminar but wakes up to find herself on a vintage train surrounded by a group of late Victorian era reenactors...or so she believes.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming release of "A Sigh of Love" in e-book on February 8, 2008.

I'm about halfway through my first attempt at romantic suspense.  It's going a bit slow, which isn't good for a suspense! :-)  Let's hope I can put the suspense in the romantic suspense!

Talk to you all soon!

I'm thrilled to announce that I've received a contract for my fourth book, "Across the Room," from The Wild Rose Press.  This is the contemporary romance set in Glacier National Park complete with grizzly bears, a woman hiding from her past and a handsome bear ranger.  I've just started a time travel and it's going in spurts.  Some days, the writing flies and some days, the research stumps me.  :-)

In other news, I have finished preparing book trailers for both "Love of My Heart" and "A Sigh of Love."  I think they're fabulous (if I do say so myself) and I love them.  The music is...extraordinary.  I hope you take a look at them on the Book Trailer page.

I almost forgot!  "Love of My Heart" is now available in print.  Yeah!!!  You can order it online from all the usual sorts at The Wild Rose Press www.thewildrosepress.com, Amazon.com www.amazon.com, Barnes and Noble www.barnesandnoble.com   You can still order it in e-book from The Wild Rose Press.

And last but not least, I have a scheduled release date for "A Sigh of Love" in digital format on February 8, 2008 and in print on August 8, 2008.  Ta da!!!

That's it for the news.  I'm enjoying walking the beach and gearing up for my next adventure this summer, though I don't know where yet.

Talk to you soon!

Thursday, November 15, 2007

"A Sigh of Love," is finished and in production.  Yeah!!!  I don't have a release date yet, but I hope it will be soon.  I can't wait.  I finished the first round of edits for "Caribbean Dreams of Love" and sent that back to my editor.  I'm writing a new book now, a contemporary romance set against the magnificent backdrop of Glacier National Park.  I hope to have it done in December.

In other news, we've arrived on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. where I'll be spending the winter walking the beach.  I love it down here.  We won't have any snow for Christmas, but....  And speaking of Christmas, they should never give a license to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves.  Don't forget to check out the contests page to play in our Christmas Scavenger Hunt contest, 13 authors, 22 prizes.  Yeah!

Talk to you all soon!

Sunday, October 7, 2007

"Caribbean Dreams of Love," is in edits as I type.  My editor wants it back by November so maybe it will be released soon after that.  I have a new editor for "A Sigh of Love," and things are flying along.  I expect a release date for that fairly soon as well.  I have submitted "A Shy Woman in Love," and am hoping for the best.  Wish me luck!  :-)

Saturday, August 18, 2007

And the fourth book is done, submitted and accepted for publication by the Faery Rose Line of The Wild Rose Press.  It's called "Caribbean Dreams of Love," and is a paranormal about a pirate, a lonely modern day woman, her precocious teenage daughter, a Caribbean cruise, a curse, a ghost, and love, love, love.

While I wait for edits on that book, I'm still working on edits for "A Sigh of Love."  It looks like the projected August release month might have to move.

I've resurrected my first effort, "A Shy Woman in Love," and I'm busily reworking it into a saleable manuscript.  I love the story!  It's a contemporary about a broken-hearted woman who uses her small income tax return on a tour of Europe, the beautiful sights, wonderful people and love she will find along the way.  I hope to have that ready to submit by September.  It's my favorite!  My first manuscript...my baby!

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

My second book, "A Sigh of Love," is due to be released soon from The Wild Rose Press at www.thewildrosepress.com on or about August 2007.  I received the cover on July 3rd and am busily trying to paste it to everything I own, including the backs of people's heads and bathroom walls.  :-D

Right now, I'm writing my fourth book with plans on submitting it to the Faery Rose Line of the The Wild Rose Press, hopefully in August 2007.  It is a paranormal romance set in the Caribbean.  You'll find my paranormals are safe and secure, just a little bit different.  None of this staying awake all night wondering if your toes are hanging out over the edge of the bed.  :-)
